Biography

I Met Cancer As a Teenager
Esther had Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma Stage 2 Cancer when she was 13 years old. After four rounds of chemotherapy, she was cancer free. Esther has learned the meaning of hope and who she is as an individual through her cancer journey. Even years after her treatment, she still tends to reflect back on her cancer past from time to time while being busy with her classes at Westlake High School. Along with her studies, she is the principal cellist at her school’s Chamber Orchestra and also volunteers at Los Robles Hospital and Cancer Support Community. She is planning on still being an advocate for people who undergo cancer and helping kids and teens in the medical world in her near future. Esther motivates herself to inform others what it is like to deal with cancer as a teenager and just as a human being. She hopes to lead a life worth living, express her perspective, and impact the lives of others.
